The Board has between six and eight members, representing all sections of the profession: IR professionals from large, midcap and small cap companies as well as consultants. All member companies should take up a Board seat at some point, for four years. Key positions, such as chair and secretary, rotate on an annual basis.
Nevir Board

Chair

Secretary
I hope you are all well in these challenging times for businesses and communities.
I am a Senior IR Officer in Shell covering investors in the Netherlands as well as the ESG narrative in Shell towards our investor community. I am interested in extending my relationships with the Dutch IR community and engaging with Dutch investors. I am also keen to provide opportunities for our young staff in IR in Shell to develop. I have on that basis offered my service to the Board of NEVIR and hope to bring to the Board my experiences from previous Board work and current experiences from Shell including energy transition and ESG stewardship.
I am currently the Chair of the Board in NEVIR and accountable for a positive Board where the workload and accountabilities are shared and where we all use our skills, knowledge and experiences well in our support to the Dutch Investor Relations community.
Welcome back to NEVIR in 2022!
On behalf of our Chairman of the NEVIR Board, Andreas Bork, we would like to start by wishing all our NEVIR members all the best for the coming year and “I would also like to say thank you for your support in 2021”.
As we start 2022, we asked our Chair to kick off with three questions on the NEVIR.
Andreas, why did you join the NEVIR Board?
“Let me start by wishing all our NEVIR members all the best for the coming year and I would also like to say thank you for your support in 2021.
When I joined Shell Investor Relations I immediately got fascinated with the work. I was therefore keen to learn more about the function as quickly as possible. I got in contact with specialists with up to 10 years of experience in various roles within Investor Relations and learned a lot from these dialogues. I applied for a NEVIR Board position to continue the learning experience, but I also wanted to enhance the recognition for the trade of Investor Relations. I believe we can increase the profile of the Investor Relations roles and career pathways. It has been extremely satisfying to be part of the Board”.
Can you on behalf of the Board explain to our members what they can expect from NEVIR in 2022?
“The Board wants to stimulate an Investor Relations network, provide subject matter expert insights on topical subjects, encourage learning and training as well as recognise best practices through the annual award gala party.
We will introduce a job portal on our website and hope our members will support that. Our website will be updated in 2022 and we plan to help our members with more information on various opportunities for professional development in the trade of Investor Relations. We will reach out to our members in 2022 to find out what they expect and need from the NEVIR.
We had a successful 2021 with some high-quality events throughout the year, and we will continue this in 2022. Our first event in 2022 is coming soon and will be virtual. On January 20 we kindly invite all NEVIR members to participate in NEVIR Live & ING present Virtual IR Conference & Networking Drinks. The link to register is here. We also plan to do an event in March and we ask our members to reserve the 30th of June for our 2022 Dutch IR Awards event.
From your perspective, what should the Dutch IR community expect in 2022?
“I believe sustainability will continue to grow in 2022. It is today somewhat unregulated, which makes it hard to define and to measure. This is a problem for our members, as it is not always rational. In that reality, transparency and the ability to demonstrate progress on a transition journey will be important. This is true across Environmental, Social and Governance aspects.
My name is Serena Zuidema and I am a Corporate Finance manager at the Kingfish Company (ticker: KING), a listed first-mover in technology-driven aquaculture and a market leader in the sustainable production of high value Dutch Yellow Tail. In my current role, I am responsible for attracting both equity and debt capital. Over the last five years, I have worked as Investor Relations Officer at Signify N.V. where I was responsible for setting-up the IR office after the IPO in 2016. Prior to joining Signify, I worked as an equity analyst for Deutsche Bank and Kempen, and I’ve worked as controller at Arcadis NV.
I am very excited about being a Board member at the NEVIR as I always find it important to exchange best practices between professionals in the same industry. I very much enjoy organizing events where we can bring people together, such as the IR awards, the yearly BBQ at ABN Amro and the regular drinks, webinars and other presentations. I very much look forward to seeing you all soon!

I moved to Amsterdam in 2019 to take up the role of Investor Relations Officer at Flow Traders. Previously, I had spent almost 20 years living and working in London. For the first 12 years of my career, I was an Equity Capital Markets banker at Citi and then Deutsche Bank. I then moved into the corporate arena with IPO transaction and investor relations-related roles at The UK Government, Intertrust, The Co-operative Bank and Foresight Group.
I am very much looking forward to building my investor relations network here in The Netherlands as well helping to bring some UK perspectives to NEVIR were I will take the role as treasurer.
In June 2021, I joined HERE Technologies, the leading location data and technology platform, in June 2021 in the role of VP Investor Relations. Over the last 8 years I have worked in investor relations for companies in various sectors ranging from healthcare to financial services. My second term in the Nevir will end at the next AGM in June 2022.
I love working in the niche market that is Investor Relations and that’s why I have never left. My current adventure as Investor Relations Coordinator at JDE Peet’s started after the IPO in 2020 and it has been tremendous fun!
Within IR I have met so many smart, dedicated and passionate people that all want to add value. 10 years ago I followed my first masterclass at the NEVIR and it helped me to get a good overview of what we do and who the players are. We visited Euronext and a trading floor, it brought everything to life for me. It also connected me with other IR colleagues that exactly knew what I meant when we discussed typical IR subjects. Finding even more ways to connect all different IR roles would definitely be one of my main goals during my time at the NEVIR.
I am responsible for the Marketing & Education within the NEVIR and I look forward to connect, support and empower the Dutch Investor Relations community!
For almost a decade I have shared my expertise in digital stakeholder communication with the use of live webcasts and webinars at Euronext Corporate Services. I also have been a proud member of the NEVIR ever since and it is a true honor to be serving the NEVIR Board since October 2020 were I’m the coordinator for all NEVIR events.
I look forward to inspire and contributing to the Dutch Investor Relations community and set up insightful and fun activities that currently fit in the evolving (digital) IR community.
Kirsten van Rooijen joined the NEVIR in 2019, within the board she takes the responsibility of the organization of the IR awards. Working very closely with the secretary office of NEVIR, visiting locations, thinking about new concepts, content, new awards, sponsors and the overall organization of this event. Kirsten is the CEO of Computershare’s Continental Europe Issuer Services business. After having joined Georgeson ( a daughter company of Computershare) back in 2007 in London, she held a variety of positions within Georgeson and then progressed within Computershare company. She has been involved in a number of M&A transactions, Activism situations and is an expert within Computershare on the Shareholder Meeting.
