Events

NEVIR organises five to ten events a year, at which we discuss topical subjects like socially responsible investments, small cap and midcap liquidity, guidance, journalists and IR and the social media and IR. Often, specialists are invited to discuss the theme. There are also round-table discussions for small groups to explore a subject in more detail. All of these events end with a snack and a drink, providing an ideal opportunity for networking.

Trends in European shareholder activism (click for more information)

    Trends in European shareholder activism

With Bill Jenks, Director Makinson Cowell (US) Ltd

Shareholder activist campaigns and take-over bids are a hot topic in the Dutch stock market. Originally limited to the US, activists now approach or go after companies in Europe as well, and therefore a certain activist readiness has become relevant and advisable. A real life activist approach means you will have to deal with a highly sensitive and delicate situation. How do you prepare for that? What are the most common mistakes and misperceptions? Is it time for an activist fire drill?

Bill Jenks (click here for his biography), Head of the KPMG Makinson Cowell US office, is a specialist in the field of shareholder activism. He has been advising many KPMG clients during activist campaigns, both in the US and in Europe. Bill is in Europe the week of 19 June to host presentations and discussions on this topic, and will share some of his insights and observations with us.

We hope you will join Bill and NEVIR in The Hague on 20 June at noon for a lunch session, or on June 21 in Amstelveen at 8.00 am for a breakfast session
